ALL UP IN IT – The minute we heard there was a new queer friendly party on Thursday nights, we raced down to Broome St for some Happy Endings of our own. Here’s the good, the bad, and the fucking ridiculous. (Be warned, there will be explicit coinslot.) BOLLY-LICIOUS - When I’m not pretending to be Indian in the privacy of my apartment, I’m busy pretending to be Indian out in public. SMH and I made the trek to Brooklyn’s Studio B to take in the energy of the latest Desilicious party, Bollyburg Bash, and to test if I could “pass” as authentic Desi. Go-go performers included Zoltan, Galit and Saudia. With music that ranged from “Bollywood/ Bhangara/ House” by Ashu Rai & DJ Bobby to “Middle Eastern/ Balkan/ ElectroPop” by Berlin’s DJ Ipek. Before the night was over a tall stranger leaned in to ask me: “Hey, you look Punjabi. Are you from there?”
