MALE BONDAGE | From the latest issue of VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN, comes a 30-page-spread, S&M-inspired story of male bondage photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Nicola Formichetti (fresh off the set of Lady GAGA’s Mario Testino cover for V). Klein, who replaces Hedi Slimane for the 3rd cover,  seems to enjoy narratives about ultra-masculine subjugation and belittlement. See this recentish study of guns and horses for Arena Homme +. Or perhaps, it’s all metaphor — punishments for fashion crimes not-yet-committed?  We covered both issues 1 (9/08) and 2 (3/09) previously.

Issue 3 — which includes the raw, “uncensored” images — is out September 10, 2009. The models include Stephen Novok (Request), Travis Hanson, Ryan Koning, Oraine Barrett, Jason Morgan, Doug Protter, Colby Jamar, Anthony Gallo (Major). Hedi Slimane strikes again with a feature for Vogue Hommes Japan entitled “The Americans”, styled by Nicola Formichetti.  This, the second issue of the magazine, is scheduled to hit newsstands March 10th.

More Pictures After the Jump.

Fashion photographer Mariano Vivanco has teamed up with super-stylist Nicola Formichetti for a carnivalesque editorial in the upcoming issue of Dazed & Confused. Brazilian models, smart styling, great photography… what more could you want, except perhaps a ticket to Sao Paolo?

After teasing with the cover for the debut of the new Vogue Hommes Japan shot by the multi-talented Hedi Slimane, we’ve got our hands on some of what’s inside the first volume.  Styled by Nicola Formichetti and shot by Mr. Slimane, the series is an artful blend of Samurai warrior and Harajuku boy with the requisite skinny boy model that the designer/photographer brought to the forefront of men’s fashion.    With all the buzz surrounding the launch, it’s sure to be a hot item on the newsstands.

For for of Hedi Slimane’s work, hop over to his blog.  Nicola Formichetti’s blog is chock-full of visual candy as well.  Check it out!
