When I heard that Geo Wyeth of Novice Theory—whose music I was introduced to at the Yale GLBT Reunion in April—was performing at Duane Park on Friday, I popped in to check out the show and was surprised to find myself in a ritzy 40’s era cabaret. It was amazing… a tony night unmatched in my years in New York.
In addition to Wyeth’s pieces on the piano and guitar (see videos of past performances after the jump), we were treated to Dulce De Leche’s golden pipes, Nasty Canasta’s burlesquing, and Brian Newman’s trumpeting. That I happened to be sitting next to Harvey Keitel made the experience all the more surreal.
