When a performance artist moves from Minneapolis to New York City they usually arrive with a big learning curve, a hope and a dream. Bebe Zahara Benet, the winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” a drag reality contest on LOGO, arrived some heavy-ass wigs, a whole lot of leopard print clothing and a demand for respect. And when a 6”3 Amazonian with piercing eyes and sultry lips asks for your attention, you give it.
One of my favorite artists of 2009 is Logan Lynn (his record “From Pillar to Post” drops today), not only because he has the endorsement of The Dandy Warhols (he’s signed to their label Beat The World Records), but also because he’s a hot ginger gay dude with a sexy voice. If you like The Postal Service, M83, Lykke Li, Cut Copy, Ladytron, Goldfrap or Metric, then you’ll LOVE Logan Lynn. And more importantly, with tracks like “Bottom Your Way to the Top” and “Feed Me to the Wolves” how can you not like Logan Lynn? This week, MTV’s Logo Channel premiered Lynn’s new video “Bottom Your Way To The Top” on NewNowNext!
Oh, and perhaps the best reason to LOVE Logan Lynn? He’s constantly uploading free MP3 downloads on his site loganlynnmusic.com.
