Cruz & Dench | Behind the scenes video of ‘NINE’ (+ official trailer)

A behind the scenes montage from the upcoming film adaptation of NINE, staring some of the most beautiful (and talented) women in the world and Fergie opens on Dec 18 in New York. Sophia Loren, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench have all either won Academy Awards or been nominated for an Oscar.

Perhaps this is why, Fergie, who has never won an acting award, plays “the whore from [Daniel Day-Lewis'] youth.” Regardless, and Miss Ferguson aside, NINE is perhaps the HN man’s most anticipated holiday film adaptation for two reasons: a) it’s a musical, and b) it stars some of Hollywood’s fiercest leading ladies.

Minx Jude Law in Drag for ‘Rage’

Move over Harry; Sally Potter has the biggest, baddest magic trick in town. Not only was Potter able to coax Jude Law into drag as Minx in ‘Rage,’ but on a shoestring budget she’s managed to surround him with a respectable cast including Dame Judi Dench, Dianne Wiest, and John Leguizamo in this whodunit about a backstage murder at a fashion show. And she orchestrated all of this while leaving out the fashion (and fashion show), as Guy Trebay noted in his New York Times article about the film.

It’s not yet in theaters, but you can view clips on Babelgum of the film’s montage of caricatures, which includes Simon Abkarian, Patrick J. Adams, Riz Ahmed, Bob Balaban, Adriana Barraza, Steve Buscemi, Jakob Cedergren, Lily Cole, Eddie Izzard, and David Oyelowo.
