K’NAAN’s newish “T.I.A” music video directed by Aussie-born photographer and director Nabil Elderkin — he’s directed videos for Kanye (”Paranoid”), John Legend (”PDA”), and Common (”The Game”). Visually spectacular, this is one of those music videos you’ll want to share with friends — plus the beats and music are equally addictive.
K’NAAN is a Somali-Canadian spoken-word poet, rapper and musician best known for making music that he calls “urgent music with a message.” His sound combines a Bob Marleyesque flow, an Eminem style-vitality (though lyrically he is miles apart), and the traditional instruments of Somalia and Ethiopia. Sports fans and gamers will recognize at least three of the tracks which are used in AE Sports video games and NFL Draft promotions.
