Pictures for Photographs | Miles Aldridge

London-based fashion photographer Miles Aldridge will be presenting a collection of his trademark, glossy large-format photographs at an opening this Thursday, May 28th from 6-8pm at the Steven Kasher Gallery.  The exhibit, his first solo show in the US, coincides with the release of Aldridge’s new book Pictures for Photographs, produced by Steidl, which is brimming with his vibrant, sexualized and simultaneously mysterious imagery.  Accompanying the seductively cinematic photos in the exhibit are a series of manic, monochromatic sketches by the photographer that serve as the inspiration for the final pieces.  It’s one of those rare glimpses into the creative process at work in the artists’ mind.
