Fuck Miss USA. The only pageant that mattered last night was the 3rd Annual Broadway Beauty Pageant — a fundraiser / cabaret / satirical “extravaganza eleganza” benefiting the Ali Forney Center (which provides housing for homeless LGBT youngsters).
Five handsome Broadway performers (including contestants from Billy Elliot, Lion King, Hair, Wicked, and The Little Mermaid) competed for the coveted title of Mr. Broadway. But it was the hair-raising(?) antics of Broadway debutante Mr. Hair — Anthony Hollack — that won the audience vote. [Ed Note: Did you know there is full-on nudity in Hair? How did we miss that?] We didn’t miss this however.
The best part of the show (MC Tovah Feldshuh’s hilarious use of the word merkin aka “pube wig” aside) was the swimsuit competition bar none. Mr Lion King even made his own swimsuit out of T-shirt material!
Next week Justin of Justin Plus One joins our crew as our official Broadway Correspondent. Look for dressing room footage, inappropriate interview questions, half-naked performers, larger-than-life egos, and a full video highlight reel of Mr. Broadway starting next Tuesday here on homo-neurotic.com.

Like the photos? Then donate to the Ali Forney Center, drink Hangar Vodka, and raise a glass to the lovely gents of the stage. Photography by homo-neurotic’s Shutterbug. MORE PHOTOS POST-JUMP.
