Really Vogue. Is this the best that you could come up with?

I think it’s fine, it’s Michelle, it’s Anna. What more could you ask for? Like homo says, something more glam would be inappropriate especially considering the current state of things.

its too safe. but isnt that the point? somber, not indulgent, but pretty, and reassuring.

this looks like a cover off of Home & Garden

I think for the first time Vogue’s dry, tired, and and numbing format is finally appropriate. We ain’t going to have Michelle in no Givenchy shot by Terry Richardson.
Although Obama was….

Ugh. This is really disappointing. Michelle is already a little odd looking but Vogue managed to make her look worse not better. I don’t care for her personally or politically, but I do like to see black women look there best especially on a Vogue cover. I don’t like the angle of her body. I don’t like the Embassy Suites background. The color of her dress is a little blah for her skintone (green or blue would have been better). And I don’t like the type.

Uh huh, well, it’s Vogue.
What were we really expecting?

I totally get that she’s got to be safe. I certainly don’t expect her to be in Gareth Pugh but I am so bored with Annie Leibowitz. I reckon they should have gotten Mario Testino or Steven Meisel to do the cover.

Michelle Obama is not a fashion icon…. im so sick of fashion mags trying to tout this pathetic notion. Nothing wrong with JCrew, as I have a closet full of it, but it is not fashion news nor does it give me “chic” style.
She is not Jackie O, nor will she ever be. Vogue, Bazaar, Elle… get real- stick to genuine fashion news.
Michelle does not take risks, her “style” is very much like any other first lady- boring. Sure, she can dress it up with a brooch or kitten heels, but please, that does not make her a fashion icon.
